- 3 teaspoons Olive Oil for tomato mixture
Vegetables
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 6 pieces Aromatic Tomatoes
- 1 piece Onion
Herbs
- 8 stems Basil some leaves set aside for garnish
Preparation
Slice the ciabatta into approximately 1.5 cm thick slices and brush them with olive oil. Place the slices on a baking sheet and toast in the preheated oven at 180 °C for about 5 minutes until crispy.
Meanwhile, peel and halve the garlic. Rub the warm bread slices with the cut side of the halved garlic clove.
Wash the tomatoes, halve them, and remove the stems and seeds. Cut the flesh into small cubes. Peel the onion and finely dice it. Wash the basil, dry it, remove the leaves from the stems, set some leaves aside, and cut the rest into thin strips. Combine tomatoes, onion, and basil in a bowl. Add 3 teaspoons of olive oil and mix gently. Season with salt, pepper, and a pinch of sugar.
Evenly distribute the tomato mixture over the bread slices. Garnish with the remaining basil and serve immediately.
